What is chiropractic?
Chiropractic is a segment of health care that address conditions of and caused by the musculoskeletal and nervous systems to help relieve pain, improve mobility and help you have a better overall feeling of well-being. Some of the conditions that chiropractors treat include back pain, neck pain, joint pain, and headaches. Chiropractic offers an alternative, hands-on, drug free approach to relieving and managing pain through physical manipulation, nutritional and dietary counseling, weight management and personalized exercise and fitness programs.
Chiropractic care involves a series of visits to help assess your situation, review and create a plan for treatment then perform therapy procedures and continually update your progress and treatments. The first two assessment and consultation appointments are longer so we can be that we answer all your questions and help you understand how our treatment plan will benefit your overall health.
A chiropractor performs procedures called “chiropractic adjustment” that involve physically manipulating the spine and joints to help restore mobility, relieve pain, decrease inflammation and help restore normal range of motion and function. This can be combined with therapeutic massage that can help relieve muscle tightness and soreness and help improve circulation to the muscles, which can help relieve tension on the skeletal system that can cause additional pain.
We assess patients through a variety of methods including physical examination, laboratory tests, diagnostic imaging, and other methods to determine the best treatment for each individual. Unlike traditional pain treatments, chiropractic treatment treats the person as a whole not just the specific issue. Chiropractic care can help improve a specific area of concern but can also help improve the overall quality of life of all patients on a long-term basis.
